Launch Sites

First Flight regulary fly from two distinct areas.

These are the Bristol, Bath and Chew Valley or the Mendips and Somerset Levels. Within these we have a number of launch sites which will give you the best possible flight over your chosen area. These are all easy to find and are listed below with links to detailed maps of the location.

If you have booked for a group or have a premier flight, this can also be from one of our regular launch sites or from a site to suit the occasion, i.e. hotel lawn, wedding reception, local farmer's field or even your own back garden if it's big enough!

Bristol, Bath & Chew Valley

Bristol: Ashton Court, a magnificent public park on the South West outskirts of the city. map

Keynsham: The Rugby Club just off the Hicks Gate roundabout. map

Central Bath: Bath Recreation Ground, the home of Bath Rugby Club, in the centre of the city. map

Newbridge, Bath: The Stothert & Pitt Cricket Club on the western outskirts of the city. map

Chew Valley: Manor Farm - a private site on the southern shore of Chew Valley Lake. map

Churchill: Langford Common, adjacent to the Chew Valley. map

Nova Scotia Pub: This is sometimes used as a meeting point for the above launch sites if we are uncertain of wind direction. map

Mendips and Somerset Levels

Cheddar: Broadway House Caravan Park, tucked under the Southern slopes of the Mendip Hills. map

Wells: The Paper Mill, just on the outskirts of this cathedral city. map

Glastonbury: Tor Leisure playing fields in the centre of town close to the Tor. map

The Usk Valley

Raglan, Llanarth, Monmouth & Crickhowell: Meeting at Raglan Rugby Club. map
